Basketball Recap: Virtus Academy Takes a Loss

Virtus Academy lost against Hemingway on Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wolves had to suffer through a 52-19 loss at the hands of the Tigers. The Wolves were down 36-15 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Virtus Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colin Williamson, who posted eight points.

Hemingway found their leader in freshman Quinton Hannah, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 14 points. Khalil Brown was another key player, putting up four points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Virtus Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hemingway, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Virtus Academy will be playing at home against Heathwood Hall Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hemingway, they will head out to challenge Kingstree at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
