Football Recap: Linn Takes a Loss

Linn played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Russellville Indians 49-12. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.

Russellville was led to victory by Jack Lake and Jonathan Witt. Lake picked up 72 receiving yards and two scores, while Witt rushed for 45 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those two receiving touchdowns gave Lake a new career-high.

This is the second loss in a row for Linn and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Russellville, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Coming up, Linn will face off against Tipton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Russellville, they will take on Harrisburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
