Football Game Preview: Bath Wildcats vs. Defiance Bulldogs

The Bath Wildcats will head out to challenge the Defiance Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Defiance will be up against a hot Bath squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Wildcats strolled past Celina with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 49-35. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wildcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 230th).

Among those leading the charge was Josiah Clark, who picked up 113 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Bath was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 276 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Defiance and Elida had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Defiance was the clear victor by a 42-21 margin over Elida on Friday. Defiance not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since November 1, 2024 (when they won 38-0).

Bath's record now sits at 7-1. As for Defiance, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Bath against Defiance in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 28-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
