Baseball Recap: Bolivar-Richburg Takes a Loss

Bolivar-Richburg and Cuba-Rushford pushed the score to 10-9 the last time they played Cuba-Rushford, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Wolverines took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rebels. The Wolverines just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Landon Barkley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 14 Ks.

On the hitting side, Bolivar-Richburg saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Lipyance, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Bolivar-Richburg's record is now 10-7. As for Cuba-Rushford, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

While Bolivar-Richburg had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
