Volleyball Game Preview: Desert Oasis Diamondbacks vs. Amplus Academy Archers

The Desert Oasis Diamondbacks are taking a road trip to square off against the Amplus Academy Archers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Desert Oasis will be strutting in after a victory while Amplus Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Desert Oasis won the last time they faced Doral Academy Red Rock and MacKenzie Dalton did her part to make sure it happened again. The Diamondbacks put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday for which the team can thank Dalton, who had ten digs and five aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Desert Oasis not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Doral Academy Red Rock between 17 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Amplus Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Sierra Vista.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-11, 25-6.

Amplus Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Desert Oasis, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-21 record this season.

Desert Oasis took their victory against Amplus Academy in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Diamondbacks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
