Basketball Recap: Christ the Cornerstone Academy Defenders vs. Grace Christian Wildcats
In what's become a running theme this season, the Christ the Cornerstone Academy Defenders gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 69-40 victory over Grace Christian. Given Christ the Cornerstone Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 292nd in North Carolina, while the Wildcats are ranked 589th in South Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
MAC HUNT was nothing short of spectacular: he scored 20 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. DOMINIC GAGNON was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Christ the Cornerstone Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Grace Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Christ the Cornerstone Academy will be playing at home against the Royals on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Riverside Christian Academy has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while the Defenders will arrive with three straight wins. As for Grace Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
