Softball Recap: Berkner Takes a Loss

Berkner fell victim to Grand Prairie and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 12-0 to the Grand Prairie Gophers. The game marked the first time this year in which the Rams were not able to get on the board.

Berkner saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Morgan Williams, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Even though they lost, Berkner hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in four consecutive contests.

Berkner has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-5.

Berkner has already played their next game, a 14-1 loss against Denton on the 21st. As for Grand Prairie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-7 win against Ferris on the 15th.
