Softball Recap: Murphy Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Murphy walked away with it. They never let the Cornerstone Charter Cardinals get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Murphy let Gracie Thrasher and Emma Hensley run wild. Thrasher went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one triple, while Hensley went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Hensley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Piper Dalton, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Murphy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Murphy's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Cornerstone Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Murphy has already played their next game (against Bethany Community), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cornerstone Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
