Volleyball Recap: Edward Little Falls Short Against Ranked Gardiner

Edward Little faced Gardiner in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Red Eddies took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The loss put an end to the Red Eddies' undefeated start to the season.

Edward Little started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 13-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-17.

Elizabeth Galway paced Edward Little's offense, picking up 13 kills. Galway got some help from Maija Bolduc and her 17 assists. Galway was also solid from the service line: she led the team with 11 aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Edward Little fell to 6-1. As for Gardiner, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Edward Little wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against South Portland on the 25th. Gardiner has also already played their next matchup (against Brunswick), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
