Softball Recap: Little Miami Wins Going Away Against Walnut Hills

While Little Miami put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Walnut Hills. The Panthers blew past the Eagles 8-0. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won seven in a row.

Bailey Thieme was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Ashleigh Meece and Grace Young did most of the damage at the plate: Meece got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Young went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Meece a new career-high. Bella Houillion was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Little Miami's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Walnut Hills, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Little Miami will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair will be back at it again later today.
