Westwood took a 20-point loss the last time they faced off against David Emanuel Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Eagles 30-28.

Ben Ward looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 119 yards, while also throwing for 108 yards and two touchdowns.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Richard Braddy, who threw for 178 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 50 yards. Braddy is becoming a predictor of David Emanuel Academy's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is 4-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Hudson Starley was Braddy's top target, picking up 58 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Westwood's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for David Emanuel Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.
