Football Recap: Montgomery Fisher's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Milton over Mount Carmel

If Milton was feeling good fresh off their 47-0 takedown of Midd-West last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Black Panthers came up short against the Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES on Friday, falling 48-25. The Black Panthers have struggled against the RED TORNADOES recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Milton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Montgomery Fisher, who rushed for 205 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. His longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.

Mount Carmel's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Delaney led the charge by rushing for 67 yards and two TDs on only eight carries, while also picking up 67 receiving yards and one touchdown. Another rusher making a difference was Michael Kimsal, who gained 97 total yards and two touchdowns.

Milton's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Mount Carmel, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Milton will face off against Warrior Run at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Black Panthers will need to watch out since the Defenders have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups. As for Mount Carmel, they will square off against Shamokin Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so the RED TORNADOES' offense will have their work cut out for them.
