Basketball Game Preview: David Thibodaux Bulldogs vs. Comeaux Spartans

David Thibodaux hasn't had much luck against Comeaux recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The David Thibodaux Bulldogs will challenge the Comeaux Spartans at 7:00 p.m. David Thibodaux will be strutting in after a victory while Comeaux will be coming in after a loss.

David Thibodaux can't be too worried about heading out to take on Comeaux: they just beat St. Thomas More at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. David Thibodaux came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Thomas More on Friday, sneaking past 45-42. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Cougars are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Comeaux ended up a good deal behind Teurlings Catholic on Friday and lost 61-43.

Comeaux has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 16-25 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points over those games. As for David Thibodaux, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

David Thibodaux came up short against Comeaux when the teams last played back in December of 2021, falling 56-50. Can David Thibodaux avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
