Baseball Recap: Whitney Finds Home Field Redemption Against La Puente

There's no place like home for Whitney, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against the La Puente Warriors by a score of 8-4 on Monday. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Whitney let Kavi Stris and Jacob Nunag run wild. Stris got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Nunag went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Nunag has posted since back in March of 2025. Camron Raufdeen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Whitney's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for La Puente, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Whitney wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-0 win against Workman on the 4th. As for La Puente, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-0 loss against Pioneer on the 5th.
