Basketball Recap: Van Skates Past Kemp with Ease

Van came into Tuesday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They really took it to the Kemp Yellowjackets for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-39 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Vandals considering their nine-point performance the match before.

Kemp's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Bailey, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Bailey a new career-high in assists (five). Another player making a difference was Allie Pringle, who posted 14 points and four steals.

Van's victory bumped their record up to 11-16. As for Kemp, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Van will venture away from home to challenge Athens at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Van is facing Athens at the right time seeing as Athens is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Kemp, they will host Lindale at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
