Baseball Game Preview: Ritchie County Rebels vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The Ritchie County Rebels will face off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ritchie County's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four matchups, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ritchie County fell victim to Braxton County and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 7-0 to the Eagles.

Ritchie County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Turner Shriver, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Notre Dame). They were the clear victors by an 18-9 margin over Valley on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Fighting Irish in their matchups with the Lumberjacks: they've now won four in a row.

Ritchie County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-22. As for Notre Dame, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.
