Softball Recap: Whale Branch Takes a Loss

Whale Branch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 25-3 to the Bridges Prep Buccaneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-10 last Tuesday.

Saiya Fisher was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. Fisher is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Zyrianna Evans was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Whale Branch's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bridges Prep, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.

Looking ahead, Whale Branch will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Edisto at 6:00 p.m. The match will give Edisto their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Bridges Prep, they will head out on the road to take on Barnwell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Barnwell will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Bridges Prep surely won't give up without a fight.
