Flag Football Recap: Panorama Picks Up 11th Straight Win on the Road

Panorama had won 11 straight on the road, but on Friday they bumped up to 25-1 to make it 12. They strolled past the Van Nuys Wolves with points to spare, taking the game 25-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 42-0 last Thursday.

The critical scores for Panorama came from Yadhira Hermenegildo, Amanda Zuniga, Livier Andrade, and Aleksa Fuentes.

One reason for the win was Panorama's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. It was truly a group effort as Melany Ramirez, Andrade, and Niria Prudencio picked up two apiece. Prudencio is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted at least one in each of the last 17 games she's played.

As for Van Nuys, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 504th, while Panorama is ranked 97th).

Despite the defeat, Van Nuys saw an underclassman step up: sophomore ISABELLA ESPINOZA rushed for 84 yards and six scores on only seven carries.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Panorama will face off against rival Sylmar at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Pythons 3.7, the Spartans 13.6) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Van Nuys is set to challenge their familiar foe San Fernando at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
