Soddy Daisy has gone a perfect 5-0 against Chattanooga Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Trojans will head out to square off against the Pounders at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Soddy Daisy made easy work of Red Bank and carried off a 13-1 win. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Soddy Daisy let Skylar Gooden and Ava Blue run wild. Gooden went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Blue went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Blue has posted over her last eight contests. Chloe McDonald also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Soddy Daisy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Chattanooga Central entered their tilt with Notre Dame on Monday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Fighting Irish with a sharp 14-3 win.
Navaeh Frank made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). Frank was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Marisa Salinas and Myra Kouris did most of the damage at the plate: Salinas scored three runs while going 2-for-4, while Kouris scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedi Sabb, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Soddy Daisy's record now sits at 14-10-1. As for Chattanooga Central, their record is now 13-5.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Soddy Daisy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .372. However, it's not like Chattanooga Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .492. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Soddy Daisy took their victory against Chattanooga Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
