Softball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Serra Catholic

Serra Catholic won the last time they faced Monessen and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Eagles blew past the Greyhounds 12-1. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Johanna Domek was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bianca Gajdos, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Serra Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.6.

Serra Catholic's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Monessen, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Serra Catholic will face off against Leechburg at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
