Softball Recap: Bellarmine Prep Takes a Loss

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Bellarmine Prep was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They lost 9-1 to the Curtis Vikings. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Bellarmine Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sara Estudillo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Even though they lost, Bellarmine Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .444 or higher in three consecutive games.

Bellarmine Prep's record now sits at 1-3. As for Curtis, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bellarmine Prep will head out to square off against Silas at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be Bellarmine Prep's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Curtis, they will head out on the road to take on Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Rogers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Curtis' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
