Basketball Recap: Nevaeh Day Key Part of a Team Effort in Colonels Win

Christian County had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past the Portland Panthers with a 47-43 win on Friday.

Christian County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was NeVaeh Day, who went 7 of 16 en route to 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Day is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anaysia Bagwell, who posted 12 points and six assists.

Christian County now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Portland, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Christian County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against McCracken County at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Portland, they will look to defend their home court on January 3, 2025 against White House-Heritage at 6:00 p.m.
