Softball Recap: Trousdale County Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Trousdale County extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 9-3-1 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Monterey Wildcats. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

As for Monterey, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this contest were averaging 2.86 runs allowed.

For Monterey's part, Kaylin Shepherd made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Shepherd is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Haylee Trevathan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Trousdale County has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Liberty Creek on the 15th. As for Monterey, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 6-3 loss against White County on the 14th.
