Baseball Recap: Walsingham Academy Wins Going Away Against Nansemond-Suffolk Academy

Walsingham Academy came out on top against Nansemond-Suffolk Academy on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Trojans blew past the Saints 10-0. With that win, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Brayden Vandesand, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Cole, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Walsingham Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12.
