Softball Recap: Valhalla Norsemen vs. Del Norte Nighthawks
Valhalla unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Del Norte Nighthawks on Saturday. The Norsemen haven't had much luck with the Nighthawks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Devyn Mack spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Valhalla saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Chiaramonte, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Coming up, Valhalla will be playing in front of their home fans against Madison at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Del Norte, they will be taking part in a tournament against Escondido Charter at 3:00 p.m. on March 1st.
