Softball Recap: Raymond's Run of Eight Straight Victories Now Over

Raymond dropped their record down to 9-4 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins. They fell 4-0 to the Prospect Mountain Timberwolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in April.

Dinkenesh Levesque spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

As for Prospect Mountain, the victory (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 17-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games.

On Prospect Mountain's side, the result came thanks to Alexis Wilson's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Prospect Mountain let Paityn Glidden and Kylie Guptill run wild. Glidden went 2-for-3 with one run and one double, while Guptill went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Raymond is set to face off against their familiar foe St. Thomas Aquinas at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Prospect Mountain will take on rival Conant at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
