Baseball Recap: Raymond/South Bend Has No Trouble Against North Beach

Raymond/South Bend got themselves on the board against North Beach on Monday, but North Beach never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Hyaks. The Ravens haven't had any issues with the Hyaks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Nolen Miller was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 13 over 4.2 innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Raymond/South Bend is 4-2 when Miller posts two or more runs, but 2-9 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Will Schray, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Raymond/South Bend: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Preston Toepelt, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Raymond/South Bend pushed their record up to 6-11 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
