Football Game Preview: Mason Punchers vs. Thorndale Bulldogs

Mason is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. After each having a week off, they and the Thorndale Bulldogs will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mason's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They blew past Christoval 35-0. The victory continues a trend for the Punchers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, it was close, but last Friday Thorndale sidestepped Hempstead for a 26-23 win.

Mason picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Thorndale, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Everything came up roses for Mason against Thorndale when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 58-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Punchers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
