Abbie Deeds was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylee Black, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Mia Haynes was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Ironton has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.87 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to Wheelersburg. The game marked the first time this season in which the Fighting Tigers were not able to get on the board.
