Recap: Jackson Academy Raiders vs. Starkville Academy Volunteers
The Jackson Academy Raiders entered their tilt with the Starkville Academy Volunteers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Jackson Academy blew past Starkville Academy 45-22. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Jackson Academy also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2018.
Despite the loss, Starkville Academy saw an underclassman step up: Raylee Jones scored two points along with 14 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Jackson Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Starkville Academy, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson Academy will challenge Hartfield Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Hartfield Academy is ranked 63rd, while Jackson Academy is ranked 69th). As for Starkville Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Rossville Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rossville Christian Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 12 games.
