Preview: Simsbury Trojans vs. Farmington River Hawks
Simsbury is 8-2 against Farmington since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Simsbury Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Farmington River Hawks at 6:45 p.m. Simsbury will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Saturday, Simsbury earned a 32-24 victory over Bacon Academy. Given Simsbury's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Bacon Academy is ranked 28th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Farmington ended up a good deal behind Conard on Thursday and lost 65-49. Farmington has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Simsbury's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. As for Farmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Simsbury strolled past Farmington in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 56-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Simsbury since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
