Volleyball Recap: Brimfield Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Brimfield was the 2-1 winner over Illini Bluffs when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 25-21 in the first set.

Brimfield started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-18, 25-18.

Kennedy Teubel paced Brimfield's offense, picking up ten kills. Teubel got some help from Jovi Chastain and her nine assists. Anja Nelson controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Illini Bluffs can attribute much of their success to Chloe Eeten, who had 22 assists and two blocks. Eeten has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 11 times she's played.

Brimfield's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-4. As for Illini Bluffs, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Brimfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Knoxville on the 27th. As for Illini Bluffs, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Abingdon/Avon on the 27th.
