Basketball Game Preview: Patrick County Cougars vs. Carroll County Cavaliers

The Patrick County Cougars will square off against the Carroll County Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Patrick County will be strutting in after a victory while Carroll County will be coming in after a loss.

Last Monday, Patrick County earned a 49-36 win over Chatham. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Patrick County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lilly G Hazelwood out in front who went 7 for 13 en route to 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Journey Moore, who posted 13 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Patrick County was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Carroll County lost 55-32 to Floyd County on Monday. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Patrick County pushed their record up to 9-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Carroll County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.
