Softball Recap: Sheldon Gets the Win

Sheldon lost to Casa Grande back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. Sheldon came out on top against Casa Grande by a score of 6-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Sheldon's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Madison Chapman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Natalia Aguilar also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Sheldon's record is now 6-3. As for Casa Grande, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3-1 record this season.

Sheldon will take on Monterey Trail at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sheldon 3.1, Monterey Trail 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Casa Grande, they will square off against Sonoma Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sonoma Valley has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.57 runs per game on average), something Casa Grande will no doubt try to take advantage of.
