Baseball Game Preview: Barrington Fillies/Broncos vs. Conant Cougars

For the second straight game, Barrington will face off against Conant. The Fillies/Broncos will be playing at home against the Cougars at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Barrington's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Conant's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Barrington's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Conant by a score of 4-0. Surprisingly, this marked the Fillies/Broncos' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Not much got past Will Renshaw, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep Conant off the board. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Renshaw.

At the plate, Barrington's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jack Swarbrick, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Jackson Roberts was another, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Conant has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-16-1 record this season. As for Barrington, their win bumped their record up to 18-8-1.
