Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Central couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 27-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wellington Wolverines on Thursday. The Cobras' defeat signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.

Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kali Daniels and Kailee Grone. Daniels has been hot recently, having also posted at least one defended passe the last three times she's played.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 18-2. As for Wellington, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wellington, they will welcome Spruce Creek at 7:00 p.m. on the 9th. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Wolverines have won five straight at home, while the Hawks won seven straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
