Soccer Game Preview: American Leadership Academy vs. South Sevier

The American Leadership Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the South Sevier Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

American Leadership Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over Telos. American Leadership Academy's offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last six games.

Meanwhile, South Sevier had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.9 goals) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Broncos by a score of 3-1. South Sevier's winning goal came courtesy of Taylor James Garrett.

South Sevier pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four contests. As for American Leadership Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7.

Everything went American Leadership Academy's way against South Sevier when the teams last played back in May of 2019, as American Leadership Academy made off with an 8-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
