Baseball Preview: Southwood Knights vs. Lewis Cass Kings
The Southwood Knights will challenge the Lewis Cass Kings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southwood comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Whitko hit Southwood with a five-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights came up short against the Wildcats, falling 12-2.
Southwood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Whybrew, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lewis Cass). They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over Clinton Central on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Kings as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
