Basketball Recap: Sterling Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Sterling won the last time they faced Westbury, and Destiny Lewis did her part to make sure it happened again. The Sterling Raiders slipped by the Westbury Huskies 50-49 on Wednesday thanks in part to Lewis, who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Sterling's points.

Madison Morrow was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 17 boards. Morrow is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Sterling is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Westbury, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-7.

Sterling will face off against Austin at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. As for Westbury, they are taking a road trip to take on Milby at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
