Softball Recap: Priest River Comes Up Short

Priest River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 41-4 to the Orofino Maniacs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Maniacs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 13-2 loss back in March.

Priest River saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Dixon, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Dixon also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season.

Priest River's record is now 0-7-1. As for Orofino, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Priest River will welcome Newport at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Orofino, they will challenge St. Maries at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Maniacs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lumberjacks have averaged an impressive 11.8 runs per game this season.
