Basketball Recap: Paw Paw Takes a Loss

Paw Paw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 79-63 to the Southern Rams, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Southern's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brayden Upole, who posted 22 points along with eight assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Haskiell, who went 5 of 12 en route to 18 points.

Paw Paw's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Southern, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-5 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paw Paw will take on Timber Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Paw Paw's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for Southern, they will welcome Hedgesville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Southern is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season.
