Volleyball Recap: Leopold Wildcats vs. St. Vincent Indians
After flying high against Oak Ridge on Monday, Leopold came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell just short of the St. Vincent Indians by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Leopold actually scored more points across those five sets (104-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18, 17-25, 20-25, 16-14.
Rylie Schreiner paced Leopold's offense, picking up 37 kills. Schreiner got some help from Ashtyn Van De Ven and her 52 assists. Schreiner was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Leopold's defeat dropped their record down to 25-6-2. As for St. Vincent, they pushed their record up to 22-6-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.
Coming up, Leopold will take on Winona at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Vincent does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
