Basketball Recap: West Lincoln Comes Up Short

West Lincoln lost against Bandys back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Lincoln Rebels lost to the Bandys Trojans at home by a 62-46 margin. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Trojans are ranked 200th).

Bandys' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landon Vaughan, who went 10 of 20 on his way to 23 points. The matchup was Vaughan's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Easton Ledford, who went 5 for 10 en route to 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

This is the second loss in a row for West Lincoln and nudges their season record down to 7-11. As for Bandys, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Lincoln will venture away from home to take on Maiden at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bandys, they will head out on the road to face off against East Burke at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
