Baseball Recap: Northwestern Takes a Loss

Northwestern extended their losing streak to 11 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 4-11 in the process. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Benjamin Logan Raiders. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Brody Grimm was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs.

As for Benjamin Logan, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.

On Benjamin Logan's side, the team relied heavily on Anthony Griffith, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Griffith has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Carter Lyden, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two RBI.

Looking ahead, Northwestern will face off against London at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Benjamin Logan will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' game: after the Warriors face off against the Red Raiders, they'll take on Benjamin Logan again at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
