Football Recap: Cocoa Beach Takes a Loss

Cocoa Beach had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-4 to make it four. They took a blow against the Space Coast Vipers, falling 48-21. The Minutemen lost against the Vipers in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 28-22 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Cocoa Beach lost, don't look at Remy Vigne. Despite the final result, he threw for 268 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt, and also punched in one score on the ground.

As for Space Coast, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 27 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Zion Sandy, who threw for 324 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 38 yards and one TD. Those 324 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bradyn Cook, who gained 53 total yards and three touchdowns.

Cocoa Beach has already played their next matchup, a 35-7 defeat against Viera on the 3rd. As for Space Coast, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 21-7 victory against Bayside on the 3rd.
