Lawrence North fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Fishers on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Carter Nahre was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 7.2 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hayden Herendeen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Anthony Ludington was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Hamilton Southeastern brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They blew past Bloomington North 11-2 on Saturday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Royals' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Hamilton Southeastern also got a great performance from Tyler Sarver as he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. Sarver is becoming a predictor of the Royals' success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 3-1 (and 5-11 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Hamilton Southeastern let Maddux Bach and Clark Bucher run wild. Bach got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs, while Bucher went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Hamilton Southeastern is 4-2 when Bach posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kian Kelly, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Lawrence North's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Hamilton Southeastern, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
Lawrence North was able to grind out a solid victory over Hamilton Southeastern in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 8-4. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
