Kaneland came tearing into Thursday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Taft Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Kaneland pushed their record up to 22-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Taft, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-18.

Looking ahead, Kaneland will welcome Batavia at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Taft, they will head out on the road to square off against Wheeling at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
