Softball Recap: Cheboygan Takes a Loss

Cheboygan had lost eight straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 2-10 to make it nine. They fell just short of the Boyne City Ramblers by a score of 3-1. The Chiefs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ramblers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Boyne City, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 24th.

For Boyne City's part, their victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lexi Katz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was Katz's first of the season.

Coming up, Cheboygan will square off against Charlevoix at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Chiefs are facing the Rayders at the right time seeing as the Rayders are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Boyne City, they will challenge Harbor Springs at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
