Wes Burford Delivers Best Effort of Season
Wes Burford produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Oakdale to the win on Friday. Burford rushed for 381 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 143 or more in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.
The win (which was Oakdale's sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Burford and Oakdale will head out on the road to challenge Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Patterson had to settle for second even though Max Medina put up the best numbers he has all season. Medina wasn't messing around, throwing for 338 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The contest was his third straight with three or more passing touchdowns dating back to last season.
This season, Medina has thrown 22 touchdowns while averaging 273.5 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after eight games last season, he had two rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to four.
