Basketball Recap: Patuxent Falls Despite Big Games from Michael Morris and Kamauri Jones

Patuxent was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss. They came up short against the Huntingtown Hurricanes, falling 75-52. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hurricanes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-39 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Patuxent had strong showings from Kamauri Jones, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 17 points, and Michael Morris, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 14 points. The dominant performance also gave Morris a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%). Another player making a difference was Shane Lawrence, who posted ten points.

Patuxent's loss dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Huntingtown, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home.

Coming up, Patuxent and Thomas Stone will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Patuxent is facing Thomas Stone at the right time seeing as Thomas Stone is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Huntingtown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
